Overview:
Project Manager needed to join a team working to create software and solutions for basic HR functions to cut costs, increase efficiency and provide better customer support surrounding human resources. Three major efforts will be the core focus of this project: HR Shared Service Centers, HR standards and solutions and the migration to shared-services for the provision of HR systems and services. Our team will provide SDLC project management, technical management and implementation support.
Responsibilities:
The Project Manager is responsible for managing large sized projects ranging from 10 to 50 persons. Their primary responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
  • Meeting with the Customer to determine the project needs.
  • Allocating resources that would be required to fulfill those needs.
  • Keep the customer and corporate management informed of the project status on a regular basis.
  • Leads the conceptual design of the software system.
  • Oversees the project costing, budgeting and scheduling and anticipates and resolves cost and schedule problems as necessary.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or other related technical discipline AND 10 years of experience with software related projects; 8 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree OR a Master's Degree in similar discipline area or Business Management.
  • 5 yrs. Project management experience with software related projects; OR PMP Certification with experience in lead software development roles.
  • 3 yrs. experience managing Time and Material (T&M) and Firm Fixed Price (FFP) contracts.
  • 3 yrs. experience managing direct reports and subcontracted work.
  • Hands-on experience managing projects overseeing the support and implementation of a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) in an enterprise wide environment.
  • General understanding of best practices surrounding human resources.
  • Experienced with tracking project costs, schedule and performance progress.
  • Prior experience with identifying and mitigating risks.
  • Proficient experience with IBM Rational Tools, MS project and MS Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Desired/Preferred Skills:
  • PMP Certification.
  • Agile Scrum or SAFe Certification.
  • Government agency contracting experience; VA preferred.
  • HR Smart or other HRIS systems.
Travel Requirements:
  • Anticipated to attend program-related meetings, conferences and to perform testing throughout the period of performance.
