Overview:
This project is to provide IT support services for a US federal government agency.  Work location in onsite in the Washington, DC area.  This project provides IT support services to support the computer users and general IT operations.  Project IT support services are to manage and maintain the customer network and systems to ensure consistent network connectivity, network security, internet access, manage e-mail services, applications support, information assurance support, operate the Help Desk and provide customer support. The primary goal is to ensure the customer networks and systems deliver a consistently high level of performance, reliability, provide high quality solutions; and provide excellent customer service to resolve issues quickly for all users. You may be asked to work a flexible work schedule on occasion, outside normal business hours of 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, either on-site or through phone, to support scheduled downtime or non-scheduled emergency downtime. You will be part of a team supporting the complete project scope that includes system engineers, network engineers, system administrators, security specialists, and Tier 2 help desk specialists.  The computer platforms supported include Windows, Linux, and Unix.

Responsibilities:
This is a hands-on high-level Project Manager position for a team of Systems Administrators, Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, Security Specialists, and Help Desk staff.   The Project Manager is responsible for the overall project IT support services to manage and maintain the Customer network and systems to ensure consistent network connectivity, network security, internet access, manage e-mail services, applications support, information assurance support, operate the Help Desk and provide customer support.  The primary responsibility is to ensure the Customer networks and systems deliver a consistently high level of performance, reliability; develop and provide high quality solutions; and that customers receive excellent service that resolves issues quickly for all IT users.  The primary responsibilities of the Project Manager include but are not limited to the following:
  • Provide weekly updates on each of the assigned activities.
  • Build project plans utilizing the Program Management Book of Knowledge (PMBOK) methodology.
  • Report on milestones as appropriate.
  • Ensure proper allocation of resources, complete risk assessments and work forecasts.
  • Ensure all tasks and deliverables are being met on schedule.
  • Manage he writing of technical articles, reports, brochures, or manuals for documentation.
  • Manage, coordinate, facilitate, oversee, and track initiatives and projects with varying timelines and scopes using state-of-the-art PM techniques for risk assessment and abatement and Program Knowledge Management (PKM).
  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Program Management, Business Administration, or other equivalent business disciplines AND the following certifications:
    • Security+
    • ITIL v3 Foundation
    • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • 6 yrs. experience hands-on experience managing an IT team of system/network engineers, system administrators.
  • 6 yrs. experience managing support in all areas of IT Program and Project Management for major or significant IT initiatives.
  • Experience working within a primary Data Center environment, with a backup Disaster Recovery site.
  • Excellent customer-focused problem resolution skills.
  • Experience managing Systems/Network Maintenance and upgrade projects.
  • Experience managing System Administration support projects and teams.
  • Manage Continuity of Operations.
  • Experience managing in an Agile environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Desired/Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • DoD experience, preferable Army customer experience.
  • Experience supporting a primary Data Center environment.
  • DoD experience, preferable Army customer experience.
  • Manage Information Assurance (IA) Security Support.
  • Manage Telecommunications support.
  • Manage Audio/Video Teleconferencing support.
  • Manage Configuration Management.
  • Any of the following certifications:
    • ITIL v3 Practitioner
    • ITIL v3 Expert
    • Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP)
    • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
    • Certified Scrum Professional (CSP)
    • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO)
